Amen Feizabadi

Amen Feizabadi ist ein multidisziplinärer Komponist, Filmemacher und Produzent, dessen Arbeit sich auf hybrides Musiktheater und Film erstreckt. Seine Projekte thematisieren fiktive, dokumentarische und kollektive Narrative in akustischen, filmischen und musiktheatralischen Formen. Geboren 1983 in Teheran, lebt und arbeitet er derzeit in Berlin. Er studierte integrative Komposition – Bachelor & Master an der Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen, Deutschland. In den letzten Jahren erhielt Feizabadi mehrere Preise, Stipendien und Auszeichnungen, darunter das Auslandsstipendium von Bund und Ländern – Casa Baldi (Olevano Romano) 2024, Residenzprogramm – Akademie der Künste in Berlin 2022, das Arbeitsstipendium Neue Musik und Klangkunst des Berliner Senats 2022 & 2018, das Stipendium des Musikfonds und des Deutschen Musikrats 2023, 2022 & 2021, das GVL-Stipendium 2021, das Recherchestipendium des Goethe-Instituts, das Stipendium der Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung und den Sonderpreis des VISIONEN Festivals in Hannover. Im Jahr 2023 wurde er mit einer Porträt-CD in der Edition Zeitgenössische Musik/ dem Label WERGO des Deutschen Musikrats ausgezeichnet. Feizabadis Werke werden von renommierten Ensembles und Orchestern wie Ensemble Adapter, Sonar Quartett, LUX:NM Ensemble, Ensemble Unitedberlin, Bochumer Symphoniker, Ensemble CRUSH, Neophon Ensemble aufgeführt. Seine Projekte wurden auf zahlreichen internationalen Festivals und Veranstaltungen weltweit aufgeführt. Einige dieser Veranstaltungen und Festivals sind das Internationale Filmfestival Rotterdam (IFFR) 2023, die Berlinale 2022, die Deutsche Oper Berlin – Tischlerei, das Festival Klangwerkstatt Berlin 2020, das Festival VOICING RESISTANCE am Maxim Gorki Theater, das Festival Nano#2 für Neue Musik, Fellow Travelers in New York 2019, die Konzertreihe Musik der Zukunft mit den Bochumer Symphonikern, das Festival Now! der Philharmonie Essen, das Staatstheater Darmstadt und das Filmfestival Cinemática in Montréal, Kanada.

Amen Feizabadi ist von Oktober 2023 bis Januar 2024 Stipendiat der Kulturakademie Tarabya.

Amen Feizabadi

Amen Feizabadi is a multidisciplinary composer, filmmaker, and producer whose work encompasses hybrid forms of musical theatre and film. His projects deploy fictional, documentary, and collective narratives in acoustic, film, and music-theatre form. Born in Teheran in 1983, he now lives and works in Berlin. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in integrated composition at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany. In the last several years, Feizabadi has been awarded various prizes, fellowships, and distinctions, including  the state and federal foreign fellowship at Casa Baldi in Olevano Romano, Italy in 2024, the residency programme at the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts in 2022, a New Music and Sound Art Fellowship granted by the City of Berlin in 2022 & 2018, a fellowship from the German Music Fund and Council in 2023, 2022 & 2021, the GVL Fellowship in 2021, a research fellowship from the Goethe-Institut, a fellowship from the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, and the Special Prize at the VISIONEN Festival in Hannover. In 2023, he was awarded a portrait CD in the contemporary music edition of the German Music Council’s WERGO label. Feizabadi’s works have been played by renowned ensembles and orchestras such as Ensemble Adapter, Sonar Quartett, LUX:NM Ensemble, Ensemble Unitedberlin, the Bochum Symphony, Ensemble CRUSH, and Neophon Ensemble. His projects have been performed at numerous international festivals and events worldwide, including the 2023 Rotterdam International Film Festival (IFFR) 2023, the 2022 Berlinale, the Deutsche Oper Berlin – Tischlerei, the 2020 Klangwerkstatt Berlin Festival, the VOICING RESISTANCE festival at the Maxim Gorki Theater, the Nano#2 new music festival, Fellow Travelers in New York 2019, the Musik der Zukunft concert series at the Bochum Symphony, the Festival Now! at the Essen Philharmonic, the Darmstadt State Theatre, and the Cinemática film festival in Montreal, Canada.

Amen Feizabadi is a resident at the Tarabya Cultural Academy from October 2023 to January 2024.

Kompozitör, sinemacı ve yapımcı Amen Feizabadi’nin işleri, karma müzikal tiyatrodan sinemaya kadar uzanır. Projeleri kurgusal, belgesel ve kolektif anlatımları, sessel, sinemasal ve müzikal biçimlerde konu edinmektedir. Halihazırda Berlin’de çalışan ve yaşayan sanatçı, 1983 yılında Tahran’da dünyaya geldikten sonra Almanya’nın Essen kentindeki Folkwang Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi’nde tümleşik kompozisyon alanında hem lisans hem de lisansüstü eğitimini tamamladı. Son yıllarda aldığı ödül ve burslar arasında Casa Baldi (Olevano Romano) yurtdışı bursu 2024, Berlin’deki Akademie der Künste konuk sanatçı programı 2022, Berlin Senatosu’nun verdiği Yeni Müzik ve Ses Sanatı çalışma bursu 2022 & 2018, Alman müzik kurulu Deutscher Musikrat’ın müzik fonu bursu 2023, 2022 & 2021, GVL bursu 2021, Goethe-Institut’un araştırma bursu, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung bursu ve Hannover’deki VISIONEN Festivali Özel Ödülü yer almaktadır. Yine Deutscher Musikrat tarafından 2023 yılında çağdaş müzik etiketi ve WERGO adı altında bir portre CD ile onurlandırılan sanatçının eserleri, Ensemble Adapter, Sonar Quartett, LUX:NM Ensemble, Ensemble Unitedberlin, Bochumer Symphoniker, Ensemble CRUSH ve Neophon Ensemble gibi saygın ansambl ve orkestralar tarafından icra edilmektedir. Projeleri, Uluslararası Rotterdam Film Festivali (IFFR) 2023, Berlin Uluslararası Film Festivali (Berlinale) 2022, Deutsche Oper Berlin’in Tischlerei sergi alanı, Klangwerkstatt Berlin festivali 2020, Maxim Gorki Tiyatrosu VOICING RESISTANCE festivali, Yeni Müzik festivali Nano#2, New York’taki Fellow Travelers 2019, Bochum’lu senfoni üyeleriyle yaptığı konser dizi Musik der Zukunft, Essen Filarmonisi’nin Now! Festivali, Darmstadt Kent Tiyatrosu ve Kanada’nın Montréal kentindeki Cinemática film festivali gibi dünya çapında birçok uluslararası festival ve etkinliklerde gösterildi.
