
Katerina Poladjan
Katerina Poladjan is a writer based in Berlin. She studied Applied Cultural Studies (philosophy and art) at Leuphana University in Lüneburg. Her novels have been published by Rowohlt Verlag and S. Fischer Verlag, including In einer Nacht (2011), woanders, Vielleicht Marseille (2015), Hinter Sibirien (2016, in collaboration with Henning Fritsch), Hier sind Löwen (2019), Zukunftsmusik (2022), and Goldstrand (2025).
Poladjan has received numerous awards, including the Nelly Sachs Prize, the Rheingau Literature Prize, the Chamisso Prize, the European Prize for Literature, and the French literary award Trophées littéraires des Nouvelles d’Arménie. Her novel Hier sind Löwen was nominated for the German Book Prize, while Zukunftsmusik was shortlisted for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize.
In 2023-2024, she was a fellow at the German Academy in Rome, Villa Massimo.
She was a resident at the Tarabya Cultural Academy from July to the end of September 2017, from March to July 2018, and from July to August 2018. As part of an extension of her residency, she is returning in February 2025.
