Olivia Hyunsin Kim
Olivia Hyunsin Kim (올리비아 Hyunsin) is an artist, lecturer and curator based in Berlin, Frankfurt am Main and Seoul. She has received the first art prize “Amadeu Antonio Preis” 2019 for her work Miss Yellow and Me – I wanna be a musical. She graduated in Choreography and performance at the Institute for Applied Sciences Theater Studies Gießen and the HfMDK Frankfurt and finished her BA in Literature with a focus on International Relations at Seoul National University and graduated with distinction. In 2017 she received the danceWEB scholarship Impulse dance, in 2020 a residency at the Goethe-Institut Montréal/Choreographic Center Circuit-Est and is a 2020/21 resident of the Tarabya Cultural Academy. She works under the name ddanddarakim in recurring Constellations with artists from different fields on the subjects of body, identity and Feminism. Her work has been shown in the Sophiensælen Berlin, in Art Sonje Center Seoul, at Mousonturm Frankfurt, in the Museo Universitario del Chopo Mexico City, in the Rote Fabrik Zurich and Rubanah Jakarta. Her last work “Like Daughter, Like Mother” premiered in October 2021 in the Sophiensælen Berlin and zeitraumexit Mannheim.
Olivia Hyunsin Kim was a resident at Tarabya Cultural Academy from October 2021 to January 2022 and again from December 2022 to January 2023.
