Anna Bromley
Anna Bromley is an artist and author living in Berlin. Her clandestine radio listening in the disintegrating GDR became the starting point for her artistic research into clandestine protest radio. Following an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach, she sends her own radio voice in search of improvised radio speech beyond state-run stations, hand-soldered amplifiers, police surveillance protocols and polyphonic memories. She combines her auditory essays with objects and installations, performances and processual drawings. Bromley’s elaborate radio assemblages have recently been heard and seen at the German Pavilion of the 23rd Triennale di Milano, Manifesta 14, Pristina, beuys2021, Düsseldorf, Tbilisi Biennale, Akademie der Künste der Welt, Cologne, Akademie der Künste, Berlin, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, and documenta14, Kassel.
Anna Bromley was a fellow of the Tarabya Cultural Academy from June to September 2023.
