Tarabya Cultural Academy is an institution of the German Federal Government. It is run by the German Embassy in Ankara and is one of the cultural activities of the German Embassy in Türkiye. The curatorial responsibility for the Tarabya Cultural Academy lies with the Goethe-Institut.

The Tarabya Cultural Academy is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a programme in three acts. The first, Water Finds Its Way, brings more than 15 alumni to Istanbul and other cities across Türkiye from October to December 2026 for readings, concerts, exhibitions and a theatre premiere.

Until 29 December 2025, artists working in various disciplines who live and work in Germany could apply for a four- to eight-month Tarabya Residency at the Tarabya Cultural Academy in Istanbul. In addition, tandems of cultural professionals from Germany and Türkiye had the opportunity to apply for the Turkish-German Co-Production Residencies that are awarded in cooperation with the Allianz Foundation.
As a residency program for artists from various disciplines, the Tarabya Cultural Academy promotes and fosters dialogue and cultural exchange between Germany and Türkiye.
