Burcu Türker
Burcu Türker tells stories in texts and pictures that come to an open end through a combination of precise descriptions of feelings, the drawing of parallels in everyday life and brutal twists. She studied visual communication, specialising in comics and illustration, at the Kunsthochschule Kassel. She has lived in Berlin since 2016. In 2016, she published her autobiographical graphic novel Süße Zitronen (Jaja Verlag), which was among the finalists for the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung Comic Book Prize in the same year. In 2018, she took up a six-month comic scholarship (Cultural Administration of the Berlin Senate) in Paris at the Cité internationale des arts. In 2020, she was a scholarship holder of the Hessian Literature Council and the agence livre, cinéma et audiovisuel en Nouvelle-Aquitaine – ALCA in Bordeaux.
