Dinçer Güçyeter is a German theatre-maker, poet, editor and publisher. He obtained his secondary school diploma at evening school and trained as a toolmaker from 1996 to 2000, working in the hospitality industry during that time. In 2012, he founded ELIF Verlag, a publishing house with a focus on poetry, which for many years he financed by working part-time as a forklift driver. His poetry collection Aus Glut geschnitzt was published in 2017, followed by Mein Prinz, ich bin das Ghetto in 2021. In 2022, he was awarded the Peter Huchel Prize. His novel Unser Deutschlandmärchen won the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in 2023 and is being translated into several languages. It has been adapted for the stage in three productions, in Berlin, Münster and Aachen. In 2024, Güçyeter received the Else Lasker-Schüler Prize, and in 2025 the Maxim Gorki Theater’s production of his novel was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen. He has two children and lives in Nettetal.

Dinçer Güçyeter is in residence at the Tarabya Cultural Academy from October 2026 to January 2027.
