Gün Tank
Gün Tank is an author, moderator, speaker and curator. After studying journalism at Marmara University, Istanbul, she completed a Master of Public Administration at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. She co-curated the exhibition 22:14 …und es kamen Frauen (2011), which portrayed the first generation of female migrant workers in Germany, and the event series CrossKultur, an annual cultural series. She was also co-curator of the event series RIOT NOW! 2015 and in 2021 she received the Literature Work and Research Grant from the State of Berlin. The Optimists. Roman unserer Mütter is her debut novel, which was published by S. Fischer Verlage in September 2022. Gün Tank celebrates the many women who helped to build and change this country, and who are barely reflected in German history. Strong women, courageous women: our mothers. Our grandmothers.
DIE OPTIMISTINNEN premiered at the Gorki in 2024. Another adaptation took place at the Stadttheater Bielefeld.
