Masha Qrella
Masha Qrella is a musician, songwriter, composer and producer. She released her first solo album, Luck, in 2002. Six more solo albums followed, including Speak Low (2009), which featured reinterpretations of Broadway classics by Löwe and Weill, and Woanders (2021), a cross-genre production that explored texts by Thomas Brasch. Woanders was awarded the German Record Critics’ Award. The radio play of the same name, co-directed with Christina Runge and Diana Naecke (first broadcast on DLF-Kultur), was named Radio Play of the Month for February 2021 by the German Akademie der Darstellenden Künste. She was recently named “Best Act” at the VIA -VUT Indie Awards 2025 by the Association of Independent Music Entrepreneurs. Her latest album, Songbook was released in 2025. Qrella, who writes music for film, theatre and radio plays, lives with her two children in Berlin.
