Volkan T error is not only considered one of the pioneers of Turkish hip hop. Over the decades, he has also made a name for himself as a producer, performer and musician. He has worked with many international rappers and musicians, composing and developing pieces for theater, films, radio plays, installations and performances.
As a musical boundary-pusher, Volkan T error experiments with sounds, samples, beats, and lyrics, always on the lookout for new sonic landscapes and content. He mostly works in a docu-fictional style, blending various musical genres with hip-hop, electro, metal, and noise. He enjoys integrating field recordings and traditional Turkish instruments, building them into artful sound collages and beats.
He has recently been working on a massive back catalog and experimenting with visuals. In addition to unreleased tracks, he will also be releasing pieces he has written for various contexts, including theater, performance art, films, radio plays, and museums.
Volkan T error is in residence at the Tarabya Cultural Academy from June to September 2026.
